Thus was the reaction of every sensible person ever as a red Shy Guy wandered into Forever Forest 8 hours ago. Now, being the clueless derp he is, he's gotten himself lost. *Sarcastic slowclap from the narrator* He swore he'd only been there for 15 minutes... where is he?

Iggy had entered into the forest that same day, he was after a bucket of water from the river to test out some chemical reactions in his lab. As he proceeded deeper and deeper into the woods, he spotted a red figure in the distance. "What kind of radioactive..." he made his way over to the shape, beyond curious what he was looking at.

"Radioactive?" That sounded like the complicated speech mannerisms of...
"Iggy!" He shouted, darting around attempting to find him.

It was indeed him, the slender, studious, scientific koopaling. Iggy watched as the shy guy seemed to disappear from his sight, and reappear again. He squinted his eyes and adjusted his glasses, trying hard to track the shy guy. He was darting around the forest so fast, it was tricky to pinpoint his exact location.

Iggy made his way further on into the forest. "Hey!" He called out. "Salutations? Hello!" He pulled out a flashlight and shone it across the woods. "Perplexing. I'm positive I heard something..."

The Shy Guy accidentally ran into Iggy, becoming dizzy... both from the impact and the vocabulary. "I-Iggy? Is that you?" He felt around for parts of a Koopa's body.

Due to the impact of the crash, Iggy heard a crackling noise, and figured something must have come loose in his glasses. His own head hurt for a moment and he fell to the floor of the forest. "Duhoo!"

He picked himself up at once and sprung to his feet, beyond curious what kind of creature could've run into him so forcefully. The koopaling removed his glasses and fidgeted with them for a couple of seconds, hoping nothing too bad happened to them, before putting them back on his face and finally seeing the shy guy.

"I believe it's me," he replied. "At least, it was yesterday. Aren't you Shy Guy!? What exquisite power...That was quite a forceful collision! Impressive."

Iggy then gave Shy Guy a curious glance. "May I ask what you're doing here? At this hour, nonetheless?"

"Me? Well I was trying to find my way home, but I was supposed to go West from Toad Town, not [i]East."[i] He felt a bit embarrassed. "How about you?"

"I see...I'm here to find a bucket of water for various, complex experiment-- On second thought, it's...it's not important. Would you like some assistance? I think I have a pretty good understanding of the Mushroom Kingdom's locations. Where is it you're headed?"

"Oh, uh, it's sorta complicated. See, I belong in dreams. Dreams are where Shy Guys migrated from. My mom and dad worked under King Wart, but when he was overthrown, they led a group of other Shy Guys to the real world. Since my parents are M.I.A., and I have no real house, I'm going to Pi'illo Island. I'm going home." He showed his small bag on his belt.
"I tried to find my way to the docks, but I got lost." Tears welled up behind his mask. "What am I gonna do?"

As one would expect, complicated explanations were second nature to Iggy. “It’s quite alright,” said the koopaling. “I comprehended it fine. However, that is going to be a prolonged journey. I’d be willing to accompany you.” He noticed the shy guy was saddened under the mask and he started to feel slightly empathetic towards him. “Do you remember anything on the route that you took in order to end up here?”

"Well, I didn't know what to do, so I kept turning right. And no matter what, I always ended up in a different place." He held in his hands - or stubs - a wooden statuette. "I left these behind as a sort of breadcrumb trail. But even though I've been walking in an indefinite circle, I haven't come across another one."
The figurine he held was a small, 5-inch statuette of a Goomba. The object was extremely well detailed, as if carved and chiseled by a machine, save for a few details. For example, there was a naturally made dark circle that couldn't be fixed due to the size. "I made one just now, do you want it?" He looked at the Koopaling with the gaze of a child begging. Iggy was hesitant to accept any random objects from other beings, but he gave in and reluctantly took it off the shy guy's hands. He knew how bad he felt, and he really didn't want to make it worse. He found it more important to help out the shy guy with his lost trail. He gave the shy guy some acknowledgement he did well making it, and then he gave him a thoughtful look.

"So, you are implying that...you've created a trail out of these...and they are disappearing randomly? How peculiar."

Rustling came a bush. "Wh-what was that?!"

The sudden rustle from the bush caused Iggy to jump back. "Whaaaah!"

His quick reflex caused him to hastily whip out his scepter and point it into the direction of the sound's source. "Stand back..." he started, not as concerned as he probably should've been. "Unless your preferred style for dinner tonight is barbecue!" He grinned mischievously, planning on sending fireballs from his scepter into the shrub, if it was to be a harmful creature that would get in their way.

A Boo pops out of the bushes, laughs, and flies away.
"Um, nice shot, but..." The Shy Guy started. "... the bush is on fire."

Iggy was perplexed, since he didn't even fire anything out of his wand yet. He looked at the shy guy funnily and then turned back towards the bush, which was certainly ablaze. "Bizarre!" he quickly cast a water spell from his scepter and put out the fire. "I'd think it be wise we haul out of here...immediately!" He grabbed the shy guy's arm and started to sprint in another direction. His hyperactive nature didn't allow him to let up. "So, where are we going!?"

"Um, North. I-I think."

Fear wasn't making the young Koopa run, but hyperactivity. He was just a ball of energy, streaking across the forest and not realizing his pace may have been too fast for the shy guy. "Ah, yes!" He called out to his companion. "So it shall be. Hopefully we won't encounter another set of ominous occurrences along our way..."

But that must have been so far fetched.

Especially since as they traveled North, they saw an inside-out bird turn inside-out again, I guess making it normal until it ate a tiger whole as it demonically said "don't put your fingers on my ButterFingers" and promptly burst into flames and leave existence.
Wow.

Even for the twisted mind of the machinist, he had never seen anything quite this unusual.

"What in the flying...might we be hallucinating?"

Iggy continued to head North, and clearly things were beginning to get more and more strange. He turned to the shy guy, making sure he was keeping up with him. He had an idea, if he fell behind, he would hoist the shy guy up onto his shoulders for a sort of piggy back ride. But for now, he focused on escaping.

"Then what do you suggest we do?" he rolled his eyes.
